A man will spend time behind bars after pleading guilty in a 2020 manslaughter case.<\/span><\/p>\n Jason M. Andrews pleaded guilty in Hancock County Superior court to reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and aggravated driving to endanger according to the Ellsworth American.<\/span><\/p>\n In April 2020, a passenger in the car Andrews was operating died after crashing while driving 85 miles an hour on Tunk Lake Road in Sullivan.<\/span><\/p>\n Police confirmed to the paper that Andrews and the passenger had been drinking, leading to authorities discovering Andrews blood content was nearly twice the legal limit.<\/span><\/p>\n He will spend 90 days in jail and two years on probation.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.ellsworthamerican.com\/news\/plea-arrangement-reached-in-2020-manslaughter-case\/article_3115b847-5228-4789-9522-1e0030badbee.html<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Police investigate crash where pedestrian was struck in Fairfield<\/b><\/p>\n On Friday, police say a man was hit by a car in Fairfield.<\/span><\/p>\n It happened on Main Street at around 4:30 p.m. where authorities say 49-year-old Dana Dodge of Fairfield crossed Main Street outside of a crosswalk and was wearing dark clothing when he was hit by a car.<\/span><\/p>\n Police tell WABI news, Dodge was taken to an Augusta hospital and later flown to Portland with life-threatening injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n The driver was not hurt in the crash and no charges are being filed at this time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/01\/09\/crash-closes-portion-main-street-fairfield\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Mount Desert will host discussion around new recycling system<\/b><\/p>\n The town of Mount Desert is planning to change the way they recycle.<\/span><\/p>\n On Wednesday, Jan 21 from 5:30-6:30 p.m., join the Public Works director and the executive director of municipal waste hub to learn about the system and ask questions.<\/span><\/p>\n You can register for the meeting online.<\/span><\/p>\n
