{"id":1077,"date":"2026-01-27T05:30:53","date_gmt":"2026-01-27T10:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/?p=1077"},"modified":"2026-01-26T15:36:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-26T20:36:22","slug":"01-27-26-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/27\/01-27-26-news\/","title":{"rendered":"01-27-26 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>City of Ellsworth updates<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After the significant snowfall, City of Ellsworth officials want you to know that trash pickup will resume on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They also want to remind residents about the winter parking ban which will help give crews space they need to plow and clear roads and sidewalks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Six people dead after plane crash in Bangor<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bangor International airport officials say six people have died after a business jet crashed after taking off on Sunday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Bangor airport officials say no one from the incident was transported to the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">They tell WABI news that with the large number of stakeholders involved, it is important they didn\u2019t release information until all parties have completed their work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This after the Federal Aviation Administration reported Sunday night that the plane had eight passengers on board.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The airport will be closed until noon today however that is subject to change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2nd fire at a vacant building in Ellsworth within less than two weeks<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fire crews endured brutally cold temperatures while fighting a fire at a vacant building in Ellsworth early Sunday morning.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The fire on Spruce Street was reported around 6 a.m.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When firefighters arrived, flames were coming out of the second floor and rear of the building.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crews initially went inside the building to try putting the fire out but were pulled back for safety reasons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Moments later, the rear second floor of the building collapsed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is the second fire at a vacant building in Ellsworth in less than two weeks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Crews battled another fire on January 14 on Water Street.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Authorities determined that the fire was intentionally set.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The cause of this fire is currently being investigated by the State Fire Marshal&#8217;s Office.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064741114561\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/profile.php?id=100064741114561<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Healthy Acadia invites public for \u2018Monthly Mindfulness Series\u2019<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Feb. 5 from 5 to 6 a free one-hour session will be held through Healthy Acadia to help you introduce self-compassion as an everyday skill to support your emotional\u00a0 well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Happening via Zoom, Ursula Hanson, a mindfulness educator will discuss research behind mindfulness, self-kindness, common humanity and awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can pre-register for the guide by following the link on our website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSfDoGpBy7JYNi-xPvcet79Llz7sKRTwg-MZUVjSSEMpRXfakg\/viewform\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Self-compassion: Simple and Essential &#8211;
