News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Fire Marshal\u2019s office investigate Waterville fire<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A spokesperson for the state\u2019s fire marshal\u2019s office reports a woman sustained life-threatening burn injuries after a fire in Waterville on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Officials say the fire at 35 Washington Street in Waterville was reported by a passerby and when firefighters arrived they took a woman out of the home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">42-year-old Lauren Slack was transported by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland; there&#8217;s no update on her condition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Officials say they believe lighter fluid was added to a fire in a fireplace causing a flash fire.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Several pets who lived in the home died and others survived.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The investigation is ongoing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>NTSB release preliminary report on fatal Bangor plane crash<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The National Transportation Safety Board has released the preliminary report regarding the fatal Bangor plane crash that happened in January.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All six people on board the Bombardier Challenger 600 died.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WABI news reports there was no evidence of issues with the airplane or flight control before the crash.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Footage also shows multiple explosions taking place during the crash sequence and damage of the wreckage was indicative of prolonged fire Maine still topping other states<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Despite state fishing regulators reporting Maine\u2019s catch of lobsters has declined for the fourth straight year, the Maine Department of Marine Resources reports commercial harvesters have earned over $500 million.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The DMR tells Star 97.7 lobster harvesters landed over 78 million pounds in 2025, the softshell clam fishery was again the state\u2019s second most valuable and Maine oyster harvesters and growers continue to see an increase in demand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maine scallops were the fifth most valuable commercially harvested species in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The
