Penobscot County Sheriffs investigate stabbing<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Penobscot County Sheriff\u2019s office says there\u2019s no danger to the public after responding to an alleged stabbing.<\/p>\n

On Thursday morning, police responded to a report of a home invasion in Mattawamkeag and discovered the victim fled the scene to another resident.<\/p>\n

Police found the victim and confirmed their injuries, they were transported to Penobscot Valley
\nHospital in Lincoln.<\/p>\n

The investigation is still active and no further details have been released.<\/p>\n

Ellsworth school board warns community about upcoming \u2018tough decisions\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

During a school board meeting Tuesday, the Ellsworth School superintendent warned of tough decisions when it comes to the budget.<\/p>\n

The administration is preparing a proposal in the coming weeks for the 2027 fiscal year, however some things could take a pause.<\/p>\n

The Ellsworth American reports non-negotiables will be employee contract salary increased and an increase in out-of-district student placement.<\/p>\n

However, the publication reports the superintendent noted challenges in the budget are around facility needs, legislative changes along with student and family needs.<\/p>\n

Overall, the school board wants to target critical needs while preserving things for future plans.<\/p>\n

The next workshop will be held on April 2 however the school budget could be voted on in the next week.<\/p>\n

Ellsworth officials remind residents on recycling efforts<\/strong><\/p>\n

A quick reminder to Ellsworth residents, city leaders are proud to see how many community members have been bringing glass bottles and jars to the Ellsworth Transfer Station since opening again.<\/p>\n

However they want to remind residents of one last step before bringing the recycling items in.<\/p>\n

Please rise and remove all labels before bringing them to the transfer station.<\/p>\n

Friends of Acadia granted over $300K for Great Meadow project<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Friends of Acadia have been working to restore Great Meadow in Acadia National Park to improve hydrology of the area.<\/p>\n

This will support healthier wetland habitats in watershed areas above and below the Great Meadow.<\/p>\n

FOA received $308,000 from the Maine Natural Resource Conservation Program to expand wetland restoration efforts.<\/p>\n

Great Meadow is Acadia National Park\u2019s largest wetland.<\/p>\n

Kaitlyn Miller exhibit at Northeast Harbor Library\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A colorful and impressive art display will be available to view at Northeast Harbor Library throughout the month.<\/p>\n

Painter, potter, poet, art teacher and singer-songwriter Kaitlyn Miller will offer her work for the community to enjoy this month.<\/p>\n

Viewers can enjoy pieces of art that\u2019s inspired by dreams, myth, art history, astrology and more.<\/p>\n

Miller will also bring pottery created between her and her mother to show multiple pottery forms.<\/p>\n

A closing reception for the exhibit will be Friday, March 27 at the library and all are welcomed.<\/p>\n
