St. Albans man injured in hit and run<\/b><\/p>\n

On Friday, deputies said a St. Albans man was hit by a car just outside of his home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deputies say 55-year-old Terrance Larry is in the hospital after a 16-year-old driver in an SUV hit him leaving him with significant injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n

WABI news reports the sheriff\u2019s office stated the teen did not stop after the crash however the teen\u2019s parents saw information about the incident and realized the driver was likely their son.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deputies say officials are reconstructing the crash and it remains under investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

One dead, another injured in motorcycle crash<\/b><\/p>\n

On Saturday, Maine State Police say a man died following a motorcycle crash in Sidney.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police say 61-year-old Adam Robinson of Sangerville suffered fatal injuries after being thrown from his motorcycle in a crash.<\/span><\/p>\n

He was riding with 28-year-old Jayson Lancaster when the bike suffered mechanical failure and the brakes seized.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lancaster was transported to the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 207-973-3700.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ellsworth Mall sells for over $7.4M<\/b><\/p>\n

The Mill Mall in Ellsworth has been sold.<\/span><\/p>\n

The property off State Street has been on the market since October 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bangor Daily News reports the mall sold for over $7.4 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

The publication reports the Mill Mall was sold to 248 State LLC according to county records.<\/span><\/p>\n

Community attendance encouraged ahead of High Street Corridor proposal meeting<\/b><\/p>\n

The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce is calling on community members.<\/span><\/p>\n

A meeting about the High Street Corridor Concept and Proposal will take place.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m. they encourage people to attend in person or online to hear updates on the High Street Corridor study, learn about the city\u2019s goals and ensure business perspectives are heard before final recommendations are made.<\/span><\/p>\n

Leaders say they plan to document and share the feedback with project consultants as they finalize the report.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting will be held at city hall.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deer Isle Apple Corps on a mission<\/b><\/p>\n

A group of people are now working to preserve aging trees, teach skills and show people how to preserve local apple culture.<\/span><\/p>\n

The mission behind the Deer Isle Apple Corps started after realizing a slew of old trees hadn\u2019t steadily produced the fruit in decades.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bangor Daily news reports the island effort wants to highlight Maine\u2019s apple preservation world while strengthening the food system and learning more about island heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n
