{"id":1455,"date":"2026-05-04T05:30:33","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T09:30:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/?p=1455"},"modified":"2026-05-03T12:00:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T16:00:40","slug":"05-04-26-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/04\/05-04-26-news\/","title":{"rendered":"05-04-26 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Southwest Harbor Inn deaths appear accidental, police say<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Authorities in Southwest Harbor are investigating what they believe are two accidental deaths at an inn.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Friday, Southwest Harbor police were dispatched to Lindenwood Inn where two men were found dead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WABI news reports officials identified the men as 69-year-old Randy Murray of Holden and 69-year-old James King of Southwest Harbor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Police say the deaths appear to be accidental at the inn on Clark Point Road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/05\/02\/police-say-two-people-found-dead-an-inn-southwest-harbor\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/05\/02\/police-say-two-people-found-dead-an-inn-southwest-harbor\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Maine Warden Service conduct search related to 2017 missing person case<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Saturday the Maine Warden Service conducted a ground search in the town of Eastbrook in relation to a 2017 missing person case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Authorities tell Star 97.7 47-year-old Russell Burnett of Franklin was reported missing to the Hancock County Sheriff\u2019s office on February 23, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He was last seen or in the vicinity of his residence in Franklin and authorities say it\u2019s believed he left on foot accompanied by his dog.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, there\u2019s been no signs of Burnett ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anyone with information about the case should call 207-973-3700 ext. 9 and ask to speak to Det. Dana Austin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Eight people taken to hospital after a car crashed into a home<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Early Saturday morning, the Knox County Sheriff\u2019s office responded to a car that crashed into a home in St. George with eight people.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deputies say out of those eight people it was mostly teens and they believe speed, alcohol and drugs are factors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WABI news reports at about 12:05 AM, the car failed to make a sharp turn at the intersection of Spruce Head Road and Village Road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deputies say the car was driven by 20-year-old Eliza Luce of Union and Luce was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WABI news reports two 18-year-olds and three minors were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/05\/02\/multiple-teens-were-taken-hospital-after-car-hit-house-st-george-overnight\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/05\/02\/multiple-teens-were-taken-hospital-after-car-hit-house-st-george-overnight\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Eastern Area Agency on Aging \u2018Access Center\u2019 set to open in Ellsworth<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">It\u2019s an exciting week for the Eastern Area Agency on Aging!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Tuesday at 10 AM, the grand opening of the Access Center at the Beth C.
