Correctional Facility in Thomaston.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maine Department of Corrections tells Star 97.7 45-year-old Brian Day left the work site without permission Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">He\u2019s serving 3.5 years in prison for theft, forgery and other offenses however he did earn community custody status and was working within the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Fugitive Investigation Apprehension Team has been activated by the Maine DOC so if you have any information or believe you\u2019ve seen Day call 911.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Authorities advise anyone not to approach Day or engage him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Former MDI pastor accused of failing to register as sex offender<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Monday, Lincoln Police arrested a former pastor of an MDI church for failing to register as a sex offender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">71-year-old Wayne Buchanan is listed on the Maine Sex Offender Registry as having possessed sexually explicit material of a minor under 12.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Bangor Daily News reports Buchanan was a pastor of Tremont Congregational Church in 2016 after being identified as a suspect in sharing child sexual abuse images online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The publication reports he\u2019s been taken into custody without incident and remains at Penobscot County of Highway Safety<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maine Bureau of Highway Safety reports that vehicular heatstroke is the leading cause of non-crash car-related deaths for children 14 and younger in the U.S.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now they\u2019re urging parents and caregivers to learn and share information about the dangers of leaving children alone in hot cars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once you park, stop, look, lock is a campaign that they\u2019re using to raise awareness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The highway safety coordinator for the bureau says Maine has very few incidents of children dying in hot cars however one life is one too many.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tips include making it a habit to look in the back seat every time you exit the car, never leave a child in a car unattended, and teach kids that they can\u2019t get out of rear doors so try the
