Maine Republicans announced Vice President JD Vance is set to visit Bangor on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n The Maine Republican Party plans to host the vice president at the Bangor International Airport.<\/span><\/p>\n WABI news reports the vice president will appear at the BGR Aviation FBO and doors will open at 9:30.<\/span><\/p>\n The program is expected to start at 11:30 AM and Vance is expected to speak at 12:30 PM.<\/span><\/p>\n The event is RSVP-only.<\/span><\/p>\n Trenton man charged after explosives were found<\/b><\/p>\n Maine State Police say a Trenton man is facing charges after a domestic violence incident led to explosives being discovered.<\/span><\/p>\n State police say on Saturday, authorities were called to a domestic violence incident at a home on Oak Point Road however troopers got to the scene and learned 43-year-old Anthony Nickerson had left.<\/span><\/p>\n They also learned he may have been in possession of some explosive items.<\/span><\/p>\n State Police tell Star 97.7 they found Nickerson at his home on Bar Harbor Road and improvised explosive devices and materials.<\/span><\/p>\n Nickerson is charged with domestic violence assault, possession of firearms by a prohibited person, arson and criminal use of explosives.<\/span><\/p>\n Maine Bureau of Highway Safety launches Seal Belt safety campaign<\/b><\/p>\n In partnership with the U.S. Department of Transportation\u2019s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety are urging drivers to buckle up.<\/span><\/p>\n The Click it or Ticket campaign is officially underway promoting seat belt safety coinciding with the Memorial Day holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n Officials say in Maine, the observed seal belt usage rate is 92.2% however, recent data shows a concerning decline.<\/span><\/p>\n Another part of the campaign is nighttime enforcement as many people choose to drive unbuckled in the evenings.<\/span><\/p>\n One week left for Maine Hunters to enroll in Moose lottery<\/b><\/p>\n Hunters, if you\u2019re looking to tag a moose this year you don\u2019t have long to register for the upcoming Moose Lottery.<\/span><\/p>\n Next Monday just before midnight is the deadline to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n WABI news reports you can enter by going to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife\u2019s website and keep in mind hunters must be at least 10-years-old by the start of Moose season.<\/span><\/p>\n The lottery takes place at the Acton Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 20.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/05\/11\/maine-hunters-have-one-week-left-enter-moose-lottery\/?utm_source=taboola&utm_medium=organicclicks&tbref=hp<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Bad Beaver Farm to host music festival<\/b><\/p>\n Happening on Saturday, May 23 is the Bad Beaver Music Festival!<\/span><\/p>\n From 4-8 PM, you can head to Bad Beaver Farm in Ellsworth to enjoy the music festival of peace, love and community.<\/span><\/p>\n The Ellsworth American reports the festival then benefits Acadia Action and Hancock County Activists.<\/span><\/p>\n The publication reports participants will see Chelsea Berry, Chris Ross and Gordon Thomas perform and a food truck will be on sight.<\/span><\/p>\n The event is BYOB and audience members are encouraged to bring their own chairs.<\/span><\/p>\n
