{"id":1579,"date":"2026-06-05T05:30:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T09:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/?p=1579"},"modified":"2026-06-04T16:33:06","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T20:33:06","slug":"06-05-26-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/star977fm.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/05\/06-05-26-news\/","title":{"rendered":"06-05-26 News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>NH man arrested for 1993 murder of Maine woman<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Maine State Police say a New Hampshire man has been arrested for the killing of a Maine woman in 1993.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Police say 59-year-old Daniel Jolly is charged in the murder of 73-year-old Maxine Bitomski.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Police tell Star 97.7 in January 1993, Bitomski was found dead in her home by family members in Kittery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Police say she knew Jolly through his job with a medical supply company.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Jolly will remain in a New Hampshire jail pending extradition proceedings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Data centers, local dams at center of Ellsworth council meeting<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On Monday, the Ellsworth City Council focused on a few things during a workshop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Data centers and dam licensing were at the focus of the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Ellsworth American reports after Gov. Janet Mills vetoed a bill in April that could have placed a moratorium on some data centers, Ellsworth officials are concerned about the potential impacts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Concerns included resources, environmental effects and of course construction.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The publication reports the city manager says if a center came through the planning board, the city will have the chance to place a moratorium to determine regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The council also talked about the Ellsworth Hydroelectric project focusing on two dams on the Union River.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ellsworthamerican.com\/news\/council-discusses-data-centers-dam-relicensing-and-city-seal-in-workshop\/article_cdb0079a-a13c-4b62-b98a-0ef77cf43039.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.ellsworthamerican.com\/news\/council-discusses-data-centers-dam-relicensing-and-city-seal-in-workshop\/article_cdb0079a-a13c-4b62-b98a-0ef77cf43039.html<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Beth C.
