Waterville man arrested for kidnapping, child retrieved<\/b><\/p>\n
A Waterville man has been arrested and charged with kidnapping and criminal restraint after a child was taken.<\/span><\/p>\n Fairfield police say a missing 4-year-old was found early Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n WABI news reports officers were called to Main Street in Fairfield Saturday for a missing child and their investigation led them to a home in Waterville where the child was found.<\/span><\/p>\n 37-year-old Brandon Phair was arrested and taken to Somerset County Jail where his bail is $500,000.<\/span><\/p>\n The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/06\/27\/child-recovered-waterville-man-arrested-kidnapping\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Investigation into fatal Hancock County crash where five-year-old died\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Maine State Police are investigating a deadly crash in Hancock County that killed a 5-year-old boy.<\/span><\/p>\n The single-vehicle crash happened in Township 22 at the intersection of Route 9 and Route 193.<\/span><\/p>\n Police tell Star 97.7, 33-year-old Dion Campbell of Indiana and another ten-month-old girl were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n The five year old was declared dead at the scene and they were the only three people in the car.<\/span><\/p>\n Initial reports show the car failed to stop before striking an embankment.<\/span><\/p>\n Bangor police investigate package left on Pride parade route<\/b><\/p>\n Many Pride celebrations took place over the weekend and Bangor Police say they\u2019re investigating a suspicious package left along the route of the parade on Saturday.<\/span><\/p>\n The package was found in the area of Hammond Street and Main Street.<\/span><\/p>\n WABI news reports police said the package was cleared by the bomb squad and the incident has been resolved.<\/span><\/p>\n No further details are released at this time.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2026\/06\/27\/bangor-police-investigating-suspicious-package-left-along-pride-parade-route\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Rockland fire responders dispatched to rollover crash<\/b><\/p>\n On Friday, first responders in Rockland were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover on Jefferson Street.<\/span><\/p>\n It happened in a small neighborhood midday.<\/span><\/p>\n The Pen Bay Pilot reports fire, EMS and police responded and based upon initial investigations, the car traveled from a two-way stop and hit a tree before tipping onto the roof.<\/span><\/p>\n Two people in the car were able to get out and were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries according to the publication.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.penbaypilot.com\/article\/rockland-emergency-crews-respond-rollover-quiet-neighborhood-street\/271752<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n State of Maine issues PSA about Fourth of July safety<\/b><\/p>\n While Saturday, July 4 celebrations will take place nationwide to celebrate America\u2019s 250th birthday, state officials are issuing a public service announcement all week.<\/span><\/p>\n Safety is the number one thing on their minds.<\/span><\/p>\n They remind us that there are legal hours for consumer fireworks which is most days from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n However on the 4th, consumer fireworks may be used until 12:30 a.m.<\/span><\/p>\n Remember you must be 21-years-old to purchase fireworks and several types including bottle rockets, skyrockets, sky lanterns, missile-type rockets, helicopters and aerial spinners are prohibited in Maine.<\/span><\/p>\n Remember:<\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Celebrate Responsibly<\/b><\/p>\n <\/b> Keep a bucket of water or garden hose nearby, never allow children to handle fireworks, never re-light a malfunctioning firework, and clean up all debris after your celebration.<\/span><\/p>\n Never point fireworks at another person or toward a crowd or building.<\/span><\/p>\n Respect your neighbors, pets, area livestock, Veterans, and those sensitive to loud noises by limiting late-night use and using fireworks only during the legal hours.<\/span><\/p>\n A safe celebration protects your family, your community, and Maine’s firefighters and first responders.
