indicted by Penobscot County Grand Jury<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Pennsylvania mother charged in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter has been indicted by a Penobscot County Grand Jury, according to WABI news.<\/p>\n<p>40-year-old Kelly Brown is now charged with depraved indifference murder and aggravated cruelty to animals.<\/p>\n<p>Brown made her first court appearance<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wabi.tv\/2025\/08\/11\/mothers-bail-set-50k-after-3-year-old-daughter-dog-found-dead-car-milford\/\">\u00a0<\/a>on August 11th where she was formally charged with manslaughter.<\/p>\n<p>Court records show that Brown parked her car at the Milford Freshies Parking lot on August 9th when she left her three year-old daughter Fiona and her small dog inside the car.<\/p>\n<p>Brown remains at Penobscot County Jail.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dwindling warming centers in Bangor\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There will be just one overnight warming center open in Bangor this winter according to WABI news.<\/p>\n<p>This comes as an application error left the city\u2019s most well-attended location frozen out of state funding.<\/p>\n<p>The Brick Church served between 60 and 70 people nightly at its Union Street shelter last winter.<\/p>\n<p>This week, the church announced the overnight warming center would not open this year.<\/p>\n<p>Despite previously announcing it, too, would not operate a warming center this winter, Bangor Area Homeless Shelter was on the list.<\/p>\n<p>They tell WABI the $7,000 in grant money will fund five additional shelter beds.<\/p>\n<p>That will leave The Mansion Church, and it&#8217;s $60,000 grant, as the only warming center in the city.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Maine State police warning Maine drivers after responding to slew of crashes on I-95<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Maine State Police responded to 13 crashes on I-95 Thursday, according to WABI news.<\/p>\n<p>According to officials most of them happened between exits 170 and 190 around 5 PM.<\/p>\n<p>These crashes were caused by heavy rainfall and hydroplaning.<\/p>\n<p>There were a couple of minor injuries reported but nothing serious at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Maine State Police are advising motorists to use caution.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acadia and state working to repair damaged MDI road<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bangor Daily News reports the National Park Service and the Maine Department of Transportation are moving forward with repairs to the battered Seawall Road in Southwest Harbor.<\/p>\n<p>After powerful winter storms last year, the road decimated however the state told the Bangor Daily news they will allow local businesses to complete a temporary fix.<\/p>\n<p>As it leads to popular campgrounds and trails, Acadia and the Department of Transportation continue to discuss both the scope of the work and transferring funding to the state.<\/p>\n<p>The original estimate was approximately $1.5 million according to the paper.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no word on the start date to repair the beloved road.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellsworth Public Library selects architect for renovation project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Plans are moving forward for the renovation and expansion project at the Ellsworth public library.<\/p>\n<p>In a board meeting on September 24th, the Board of Trustees voted to work with Sealander Architects, an Ellsworth based firm to begin construction design documents and lead the project.<\/p>\n<p>The renovation, which launched last year, aims to enhance ADA accessibility, improve safety, address long-deferred maintenance, reduce noise and create flexible spaces.<\/p>\n<p>Officials tell Star 97-7 this is the third attempt since 2011 to improve the tonight&#8217;s football game at Ellsworth High School!<\/p>\n<p>The newest members of the school\u2019s Academic Hall of Fame will be applauded and\u00a0 introduced according to the Ellsworth American.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. in the EHS cafe there will be a Hall of Fame Ceremony to continue the celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony is free and open to the public however Ellsworth High asks that you call ahead if you\u2019d like to attend.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hotel for dogs in Ellsworth ready to welcome tail wagging guests for Grand Opening<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A welcoming home away from home is open and ready to welcome furry guests at their 19 Boggy Brook Road location.<\/p>\n<p>Uncle Buggy\u2019s Hotel for Dogs is a 6,000 square-foot daycare operated by a mother-daughter duo according to the Ellsworth American.<\/p>\n<p>The grand opening will feature tours of the facility, dog assessments, $15 dog nail trims, dog stenciling, homemade dog treats and frozen pup cups, raffles and giveaways.<\/p>\n<p>The paper says the owners hope to hire staff in the coming months and want to offer grooming services by next
