Colorado man pleads guilty to drunk driving in Acadia<\/b><\/p>\n
A Colorado man pleaded guilty after driving drunk at Acadia National Park and getting stuck in a roundabout.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the Bangor Daily News, 66-year-old Parker Emerson of Denver entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to six months of probation.<\/span><\/p>\n The paper says court records show Emerson was caught driving drunk on July 31 by a park ranger.<\/span><\/p>\n https:\/\/www.bangordailynews.com\/2025\/10\/22\/hancock\/hancock-police-courts\/colorado-man-drunk-driving-acadia-roundabout\/<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Three-County community action agency discusses future plans<\/b><\/p>\n Aroostook County Action Program\u2019s new three-county community action agency is looking to fulfill the needs for all counties and replenish resourceful programs for locals.<\/span><\/p>\n This after a decision was made that effective October 1, they would oversee all operations from Downeast Community Partners<\/span><\/p>\n According to ACAP, the new agency supporting Aroostook, Washington, and Hancock County will launch with a new name and brand in 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n Here\u2019s what the CEO, Jason Parent, has to say.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYeah I think that\u2019s an essential part moving forward is to look at growth opportunities in ways that serve the three counties across the board in a more effective and efficient way,\u201d said Parent.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTo look for opportunities where we as a community action agency reflect upon a community needs assessment that we\u2019re required to conduct every three years which is a part of our community services block grant which is what makes the community action agency in the United States a community action agency. So we\u2019re constantly looking at what the people in the counties are saying are their needs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The Community Action in Aroostook, Washington and Hancock Counties Radiothon will be hosted by Star 97.7 on Thursday, Nov. 13.<\/span><\/p>\n Funds raised will help benefit Washington and Hancock county residents with home energy assistance.<\/span><\/p>\n For more on ACAP <\/span>follow the link<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Hancock town office announces closure for renovations<\/b><\/p>\n The Ellsworth American reports the Hancock Town office announced a closure from Nov. 24 until Dec. 2 for renovations.<\/span><\/p>\n A town clerk told the paper aging carpet will be removed and replaced with laminated flooring.<\/span><\/p>\n While the office will be closed the clerk told the Ellsworth American she and other staff members can be reached by email or the numbers listed on the town’s website.<\/span><\/p>\n
