Boating tips as the warm weather approaches

We’re finally seeing slightly warmer temperatures and it’s hard to daydream about when it’s sunny and 75.

A lot of people will be polishing their boats to get back out on the water and the City of Ellsworth is getting ready as well.

City officials say next week, crews will work to install the boat launches and docks at both Green Lake and Branch Lake.

If you’re eager to get out now while the water is colder keep in mind to wear a life jacket, check your boat and motor, be mindful of the cold water since hypothermia can happen quickly, bring a charge phone or communication device and watch conditions as well as other boaters.
