Man dies after being struck by a car in Bradford
On Tuesday, the Penobscot County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car in Bradford.
Sheriffs say a man died even though lifesaving efforts were performed.
WABI news reports it happened at 12:40 PM on Route 221 and according to Sheriff Troy Morton, the man who was on the roadway at the time of the crash was hit by a car heading south towards Glenburn.
The accident remains under investigation and the man’s identity has not been released.

Thousands of Mainers submit absentee ballots ahead of election day
Mainers are getting reminders left and right about absentee ballot voting, the deadline which is Thursday by 8 PM and more.
Less than a week away, Mainers are gearing up to vote for the Democratic and Republican primaries for Maine governor, U.S. Senate and U.S. House in the 2nd Congressional District.
WABI news reports the Secretary of State’s office says they’ve seen more than 65,000 requested ballots as of Monday.
Nearly 35,000 of those have been returned and accepted and 29,000 have to still be submitted.

After multiple fundraising efforts to save the facility that provides adult day services, the community can be proud of showing up.

City of Ellsworth officials seeking the right path
The streets of Ellsworth have been an ongoing topic amongst residents, business owners and community members in Ellsworth.
Now, after feedback has been reviewed, city officials want to ensure they are on the right path.
Preliminary designs have been mocked up alongside some recommendations to improve Ellsworth streets, so officials want to hear from you!
There will be a public meeting on Wednesday, June 10 at the council chambers where the public can provide their perspective on what needs to be done.
