Church fire in Dennysville under investigation
The Maine Fire Marshal’s office says a fire at a church in Dennysville is under investigation.
The Dennysville Edmunds Congregational Church caught fire at around 8 a.m. on Monday.
Officials say upon initial investigation, the fire started in the back of the church located on King Street.
Crews were able to limit the damage to the outside of the building and nobody was in the church at the time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Rockland police searching for missing man
Rockland police say they’re searching for a missing man.
Police are searching for 49-year-old Scott Clark of Rockland to check on his well-being.
WABI news reports Clark was last seen driving a blue chevy tahoe with the license plate of 393FGZ.

Former Ellsworth woman sentenced for being a felon in possession of firearms
On Monday a U.S. District Court judge sentenced a former Ellsworth resident for being a felon in possession of firearms.
36-year-old Karissa Beam has been sentenced to three years in jail followed by three years of supervised release.
Court records show Beam encountered a Hancock County Sheriff’s deputy in Trenton having a high incidence of drug related activities.
Beam was on state probation for prior robbery convictions and was searched by police and they found two handguns in her possession.
Maine Affordability payments to be distributed
The state of Maine will start sending out the Maine Affordability payments this month.
A portion of sales and excise tax payments are set to be distributed to people affected by such taxes.
WABI news reports the state budget set more than $155 million for the one-time $300 payments.
Paper checks will be sent to eligible recipients using the address on file with Maine Revenue Services.

Searsmont Strong benefit BBQ and concert to be held on July 25
As the town of Searsmont is healing from the tragic fire and explosion at Robbins Lumber in May, the community continues to find different ways to uplift the departments.
To support fire, rescue and the Robbins Lumber fire relief fund, a BBQ and concert will be held on Saturday, July 25.
WABI news reports the event will include over 30 raffle prizes including a brand new car and food will be provided along with live music and more.
Organizers say it’s a great way to get the community together, support those impacted and raise funds to support equipment purchases for the departments.
Castine Yacht Club annual event returns for 27th year
For the 27th year spectators will gather for the annual Castine Classic Yacht race.
Happening on Thursday, July 30, you can experience a Maine coastal tradition as yachts sail from Castine to Camden.
