ATV crashes into car in Chesterville leaving one dead
On Saturday, one person died and another was critically injured after an ATV crash involving a car.
It happened in Chesterville.
WABI news reports 35-year-old Michael Kidd Jr. was driving his ATV and collided with a car and officials say Kidd did not stop or yield as he entered the intersection of Cohoon and Vienna Roads.
He and his passenger were thrown from the ATV after being struck.
The crash remains under investigation.
Acadia National Park visitation levels increase
The Acadia National Park Advisory Commission met with Bar Harbor Town Officials for an update on the national park
The superintendent staff reports that Acadia National Park visitation levels in July, August and October have been the highest on record

The park foundation has also funded a $1.5 million innovation grant that will fund real time tracking on parking in the Bar Harbor Area.
Staff also spoke about development with Maine DOT regarding an off highway parking spot for more safe access to the Eagle Lake area.
U.S. border agent charged after computer parts reported stolen
Hardware out of over 40 computers at the Calais Port of Entry location of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency was reported stolen.
Now, a border protection agent is charged with that crime.
The Bangor Daily News reports 39-year-old Terry Liu of Calais is charged with a felony count of theft of government property and destruction of government property.
The publication reported Liu worked as a supervisor and allegedly took hardware in 2025 replacing it with equipment that is not compliant with the agency’s requirements.
Town of Gouldsboro set to change work week and online presence
Some changes seeking to improve the town of Gouldsboro’s administration and service to the public are on the way.
The town manager announced a new website is on the way.
The Ellsworth American reports on top of that, the town looks to adopt the four-day work week like Bucksport and Ellsworth have in place starting Nov. 9.
The town manager tells the publication their goal for the new website is to make it easier for residents to find important information and take care of town related business.
When it comes to the four-day work week, that decision was made by the town manager and town staff after they analyzed staffing, workload and patterns of public use.
Mainers advocate for cancer research funding
One in three Mainers will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime.
This week, advocates are on Capitol Hill fighting for the funding to change those odds.
WABI news reports Mainers are attending the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s annual leadership summit and lobby day.
Volunteers will ask members of Congress to support the highest possible funding increases for cancer research and prevention programs.
That includes more than $51 billion for the National Institutes of Health. It is the primary federal agency behind medical and public health research.
