Stu Marcoon

Stu Marcoon

Stu Marckoon, began his radio career in 1977 while still in high school in Rockland. After earning a degree in accounting at Husson College, he was a radio news reporter in Bangor, then the news director at WVII-TV in Bangor. In 1983 Stu moved to Ellsworth to work for the owners of Star 97.7 and has won about every major news award from both the Maine Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press. When he’s not working radio, Stu is the Town Administrator for Lamoine, the Deputy Fire Chief in Lamoine, a certified basketball and volleyball referee and a certified baseball umpire, and he’s the tuba player for both the Ellsworth Concert Band and the Fletcher’s Landing Philharmonic Orchestra. He and his wife Bonnie live in Lamoine and have two grown daughters, and two cats.
