Thanksgiving came early for the Ellsworth Historical Society

The Ellsworth Historical society had a pleasant surprise ahead of Thanksgiving.

The five-week Roof over Archives campaign has not only reached but it has surpassed its $26,000 goal!

That means a new roof for the historic Chamberlain/Whitney House will be installed!

The house was built in 1825, however community donors and advocates have worked to preserve Ellsworth’s only official repository for the city’s history.

This major move is the first step in a stabilization plan for the property.

Thanksgiving marked 50 years since Bob Dylan’s ‘Rolling Thunder Revue’ tour in Bangor

Thanksgiving 2025 marked the 50th anniversary of a big concert in Bangor according to WABI news.

Bob Dylan’s ‘Rolling Thunder Revue’ made a stop at the Bangor Auditorium.

For just $8.50 a ticket, you saw Dylan and numerous musicians and collaborators including Joan Baez and Roger McGuinn for a four-hour show in the Queen City.

It consisted of the classics and some spoken word poetry, but some were disappointed they didn’t hear ‘Blowin in the Wind.’

Bangor Historian Dick Shaw was in the crowd and recalls a memorable set of 20-30 people paying tribute to folk singers who came before them.

He told WABI while it was Bob Dylan’s tour, Joan Baez really stole the hearts in the crowd.
