Washington County Sheriff’s search for missing juvenile

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find 16-year-old Lilyanna Rose Cook.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office, Cook was last seen in Roque Bluffs. 

She is described as 5-foot-2 and 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. 

She has a nose ring, ear piercings and a rose tattoo on her arm.

She was last seen wearing black-and-white Jordan shoes and a white sweater, and was carrying a black-and-pink backpack with a rose on it.

She may be with a man and possibly leaving Maine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Lewiston holds multiple remembrance events marking 2 years since mass shooting

The Lewiston community came together to honor the victims and survivors of the mass shooting that happened two years ago, as well as the first responders who were called into action on Oct. 25, 2023.

WABI news reports a public gathering of remembrance was held Friday evening on the Longley Bridge, which is the bridge near Veterans Memorial Park.

Gov. Janet Mills ordered U.S. and state of Maine flags to be lowered to half-staff statewide from sunrise until sunset on Saturday in remembrance of the Lewiston shooting victims and to honor the survivors of the tragedy.

One Lewiston said two moments of silence were held Saturday.

The first was at 6:56 p.m., when the first shooting happened at Just-In-Time Recreation, and the second was held at 7:08 p.m., when the second shooting happened at Schemengees Bar and Grille.

On Sunday, the Lewiston Police Department took to the ice against the Boston Bruins Alumni team and any youth fans who wore hockey jerseys received free admission.

Search continues for suspects in Knox shooting

A Knox woman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after police say she was shot at her home on Bailey Road Thursday night according to WABI news.

Maine State Police say three men wearing ski masks shot the woman when she answered the door.

State Police say the three men fled the scene and have not been located.

They say a vehicle was found nearby that was taken for evidence.

State Police say they believe the shooting is an isolated incident and there is no known risk to the public.

Single-vehicle rollover in Rockland

On Friday, police responded to a single-vehicle rollover in Rockland.

According to the Pen Bay Pilot, a car went down an embankment, hit a sailboat and an elderly couple in the car self-extricated.

Police tell the paper, it’s believed the car was moving along Main Street and perhaps the driver got confused, missed a turn to the ferry terminal and then went over the sidewalk and down the embankment.

Rockland EMS transported the couple to the hospital due to some bruising but they were walking and talking when first responders arrived on scene.

Bar Harbor Bank and Trust announces 10-year-sponsorship for former Speedway 95

After purchasing Speedway 95, former NASCAR driver Ricky Craven spoke with local media and racing fans at the Hermon Ambulance building about the track’s future, including a new name.

According to WABI, Craven and Bar Harbor Bank and Trust President and CEO Curtis Simard introduced Speedway presented by Bar Harbor Bank and Trust as part of the 10-year sponsorship.

Craven is a Newburgh native who won in four different series.

He said track structure changes are already underway.

Lincolnville Community Library hosting haunting book discussion

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Lincolnville Community Library will host their monthly book discussion in a haunting way.

Join them as they discuss ‘Tales from the Haunted South’ written by Tiya Miles.

Starting at 5PM you can explore ghost tours through urban manor homes, cemeteries and plantations where people are fascinated with figuring out who those ghosts are.
