Election Day results in Ellsworth
The polls are closed and the final results are in from the Nov. 4 election.
For Question 1, WABI reports Mainers voted ‘No’ on the proposal focused on Voter ID.
The initiative would’ve implemented a photo ID requirement for voters, limit the use of drop boxes for returning completed ballots and make changes to the state’s absentee voting system.
For Question 2, Maine residents voted ‘Yes’ to make it easier for family members to petition a court to restrict a potentially dangerous person’s access to guns just two years after the deadliest mass shooting in history.
In Ellsworth, residents voted on three seats for the city council.
Patrick Shea, Carol Patterson-Martineau and Marinna Smith have all been elected.
As far as the Ellsworth School Board goes, the Ellsworth American reports that locals voted for Beverly Sargent and Paul Markosian.
Voters in Ellsworth selected Judith Lyles as the Ellsworth Library Trustee.

Moe’s Original BBQ handing out meals on Wednesday
A barbecue joint in Bangor is continuing to help families facing food insecurity and benefit shortages while the government is shut down according to WABI news.
Moe’s Original BBQ at 650 Broadway posted on social media Tuesday that they will be handing out around 100 free meals on Wednesday.
They say between 9:00am and 11:00am, they’ll be handing out FREE “Double-Wide Family Pack” meals that will feed three to four people.
They say their staff has been working hard on these meals to give back to the community.
They’re asking people to pass this along to anyone who you feel might be interested, and they’ll post on their Facebook page if/when they run out.
Maine Seacoast Mission Christmas gift sign up is open
The Maine Seacoast Mission’s Christmas program invites families with children under 18 to sign up, according to the Ellsworth American.
The paper says the program has helped children and families have a merry Christmas since 1905.
The publication says last year, more than 4,300 gifts were distributed to people in the Mission’s service area.

Unofficial Taylor Swift Tribute in Bangor
Two performances held on Sunday Nov. 23 at 4PM and 7PM will draw Taylor Swift fans to the Gracie Theatre at Husson University in Bangor.
The popular unofficial Taylor Swift tribute, Blank Space will hit Queen City on its northeast tour.
Fans can expect a journey into the world of Taylor Swift’s hits from the early country songs to the pop anthems.
There will also be bracelet trading and crafting to make your favorite Swiftie souvenir.

Ellsworth’s Jordan’s Snack Bar staying open through the winter
Ellsworth native Scott Kenny tells WABI news, Jordan’s snack bar will be open through the winter!
After exploring the idea, Kenny says they will transition from the snack bar to the dining room in hopes of creating more employment opportunities while bringing the same delicious eats to Ellsworth residents.

Healthy Acadia offering free Tai Chi for Heart Health classes

Healthy Acadia will offer a free eight-week Tai Chi for Heart Health class on Sundays starting on Nov. 9 through Dec. 28 at Alexander Elementary.
Over at 1430 Airline Road in Alexander, classes will meet from 3 to 4PM in the school gymnasium.
The form of fitness often described as ‘meditation in motion’ will promote mindful breathing, flexibility, cognitive function and so much more.
