Assessment reveals Ellsworth’s worst roadways and sidewalks
The Ellsworth City council approved a contract with a company called ‘Citylogix’ to detect defects in roadways.
The Ellsworth American reports data collected recently was discussed during a city council workshop on Monday.
The information stated that based on the Pavement Condition Index, a segment of Maple Street off Surry Road is the worst road in the area.
Councilors tell the paper they plan to use the data on roads and sidewalks to implement an improvement plan which is expected to be discussed at an upcoming city council workshop.

Bucksport moves forward with plan to build Tractor Supply
A Tracker Supply store could be the newest building in Bucksport this year after the planning board approved a site.
The Bangor Daily News reports the 22,000 square foot store could potentially call 116 US Route 1 its home which is close to an already existing strip mall.
The publications reports this Bucksport location will not be set up to include a greenhouse; however the proposal of that feature was submitted to the town.
Now the project awaits state approval and permits with the developers hoping to start the building process in April or May.
Friends of Franklin Schoodic Hall awarded grant
Those working on the restoration project for the Franklin Schoodic Hall received a big boost.
Morton-Kelley Charitable Trust awarded the organization $5,000 pushing them closer to their goal of $75,000 for their second phase of restoration according to the Ellsworth American.
The work looking to be done is raising the building to complete groundwork needed to install a concrete slab.
The Friends of Franklin Schoodic Hall wish to bring the building back to life for the community to enjoy.

Peter and the Wolf presented at The Grand
The Grand Theater announces ‘Peter and the Wolf’ will hit the stage live on Jan. 23 at 6 p.m.
The production will be directed by Moxie McBreairty and orchestrated by Rebecca Edmondson.
The classic show dives into a child’s confusion with the complex world transforming adults into animals where colors and dispositions mirror their human counterparts.

Community ice rink open in Bar Harbor
It’s hard finding things to do in the thick of the winter but it’s exciting when you can bundle up for a fun reason!
Over in Bar Harbor the community stepped up to install an ice skating rink on the ballfields.
The Ellsworth American reports the Bar Harbor Village Improvement Association collaborated with volunteers, the fire departments and fellow community members to get the project in place.
When you head out to enjoy the skate rink, bundle up and wear protective gear. They also require children to be supervised by an adult
