Fire Marshal’s office investigate Waterville fire

A spokesperson for the state’s fire marshal’s office reports a woman sustained life-threatening burn injuries after a fire in Waterville on Thursday.

Officials say the fire at 35 Washington Street in Waterville was reported by a passerby and when firefighters arrived they took a woman out of the home.

42-year-old Lauren Slack was transported by LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center in Portland; there’s no update on her condition.

Officials say they believe lighter fluid was added to a fire in a fireplace causing a flash fire.

Several pets who lived in the home died and others survived.

The investigation is ongoing.

NTSB release preliminary report on fatal Bangor plane crash

The National Transportation Safety Board has released the preliminary report regarding the fatal Bangor plane crash that happened in January.

All six people on board the Bombardier Challenger 600 died.

WABI news reports there was no evidence of issues with the airplane or flight control before the crash.

Footage also shows multiple explosions taking place during the crash sequence and damage of the wreckage was indicative of prolonged fire following the impact.
