Two men accused of kidnapping, assaulting woman in Bangor

On Tuesday, Bangor Police responded to a home where a woman had been assaulted, threatened and locked in her bathroom before escaping.

Police say 51-year-old Dovan Campbell of Michigan and 46-year-old Michael Clark of Ohio were arrested and charged for the incident.

WABI news reports both men are being held at Penobscot County Jail as they face charges of kidnapping, assault, and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Sen. Susan Collins reveals benign tremor through 30 years in Senate

Sen. Susan Collins announced she has had a benign tremor through her tenure in the Senate.

After comments have been made about her health and people noticing her shaking or trembling she spoke out saying she has an essential tremor.

WABI news reports she says the tremor has been something she’s dealt with during her 30 years in the Senate.

Collins who is 73 is running for reelection in a bid for a sixth term in the Senate being the only Republican who qualified to appear on the ballot for Maine’s primary election.

Better Business Bureau sending warning over job and student loan scams

It’s graduation week for many scholars out there and it’s also the perfect time to job hunt or scan over those student loans.

However, the Better Business Bureau warns scammers are waiting on the other side.

They encourage parents to talk with their graduates as they navigate student loans, employment searches, rental agreements and more.

Unity Environmental University expands pathway for student transfers

Leaders at Unity Environmental University announced the expansion of its community college articulation agreement program!

This means transfer pathways for 11 two-year institutions across Maine and New Hampshire are now formalized.

University leaders wanted to create more affordable pathways to success for future students in the environmental fields.

Applications are officially open for the City of Ellsworth’s craft and vendor fair!

The third annual Cultural Fusion Fest is set for Thursday, May 14!

Hosted by Healthy Acadia the fest is an opportunity for seasonal workers and year-round residents to gather and celebrate culture, community and connection.

From 4-7:30 PM you can enjoy the event that highlights Jamaican and Caribbean culture through food, music and interactive activities.

Local non-profits will be present to offer resources for Mount Desert Island’s seasonal workers settling in.
