Authorities investigate Ellsworth fire on Thursday
According to the city of Ellsworth, a fire erupted at a commercial structure at 10 Franklin Street.
The building is adjoined to the Riverside Cafe.
City leaders say the Ellsworth Fire Department contained the fire quickly and multiple units responded.
The property has been turned back over to the owner and the cause is under investigation.
GoFundMe set up for workers displaced by apartment fire
Four workers are getting assistance after staff housing they resided in was destroyed by fire.
On June 23, a fire erupted at 11 West Eden Avenue.
The Bar Harbor story reports a GoFundMe is now set up to raise funds for the workers.
Madawaska man arrested after alleged threats
A Madawaska man is behind bars, accused of threatening neighbors with a hammer.
Police say officers were dispatched to 11th Avenue on Tuesday night.
WABI news reports officers say 46-year-old Jacob Brewer actively resisted arrest when they arrived and even continued to do so after being tased.
Authorities said Brewer was eventually taken into custody and transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent for a psychological evaluation before being taken to jail.

Town of Winter Harbor reaches approval of municipal budget
A smooth meeting for voters in Winter Harbor during their last annual town meeting.
It concluded with wide approval of funding for county taxes and education.
The Ellsworth American reports voters in Winter Harbor approved 30 articles and a $3.2 million dollar municipal budget.
The publication reports that on top of the approval for the new budget, voters also approved positions for the recreation committee board of directors, the harbor committee, trustees for the town public library and those who will serve on the lobster festival committee.
Sullivan residents push forward municipal budget
Residents in Sullivan approved the town’s budget this week.
The $2.1M budget includes a decrease for the transfer station and for parks and rec programs.
The Ellsworth American reports the town also discussed applying for federal aid for the Sullivan Play Area Improvement Project.
Other approved articles included the approval of $5,000 for the Sullivan Age Friendly Committee and $38,000 for the town’s cemeteries.
Midcoast community rallies behind Searsmont after deadly fire
After the fire and explosion at Robbins Lumber in Searsmont in May, communities across the state are continuing to rally behind those impacted.
Restaurants in Camden are coming together to support one of their own.
WABI news reports Lily Robbins who is a seasonal server at Camden’s Mosaic Restaurant is also a volunteer EMT and UMaine graduate.
Robbins is on a long road to recovery at Mass General and is in serious condition.
To help with hospital costs, WABI news reports the owners at Mosaic have set up a GoFundMe and created special drinks to benefit the fund.

Summer at the Ellsworth Public Library
The Ellsworth Public Library always has programs, classes and events for all ages in the area.
On top of their weekly outdoor exploration and play experience for kids, the mothers’ circle group and Summer reading kick-off party starting this weekend, they’ve officially announced Thursday Nights at the library.
