Homeowner and dog escape Trenton house fire
The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a fire at a home in Trenton.
Just before 5 a.m. on Monday, the Trenton fire department responded to a home fully engulfed on Baxter Ledge Road.
Authorities say the homeowner and dog were able to get out safely.
Investigators believe the fire started outside of the home but the investigation is ongoing.
Maine State Police launches investigation into missing Aroostook county man
Maine State Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a missing man from Aroostook county.
43-year-old Jason Kirschmann hasn’t been seen or heard from since October 2019.
Maine State Police recently became the primary investigative agency and they’re asking anyone who may know about Jason’s whereabouts to come forward.
Police say Jason was last known to be in the Boundary Line Road area of Hamlin described as a white male, 5’ 10” and approximately 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Flight diverted to Bangor airport Monday
A flight diverted to the Bangor International Airport on Monday due to a cockpit fire according to the FAA.
The flight landed safely around noon.
WABI news reports the Swiss International Air Lines flight 16F landed at a full stop on the runway but it has since reopened.
The company says 208 people were on the plane and upon investigations there was no actual fire found.
However Swiss says there was a presence of smoke in the business class area of the plane.

Law requiring notice to people restricted from state property goes into effect
A law sponsored by Sen. Nicole Grohoski (D-Ellsworth) requires that if the state restricts a person from property or services, the state must notify that person in writing.
In that statement, it must also be clear on how that person can challenge that restriction.
‘An Act to Enhance Notice to Individuals Whose Access to State Property Have Been Restricted’ will require the Maine Department of Public Safety to gather data on restrictions and report it back to legislature in 2028.
The law goes into effect this week.
Maine DOT looking for feedback on proposed Ellsworth project
As a part of their public engagement process, the Maine DOT is inviting the public to learn more about the improvements proposed for Main Street Bridge over the Union River.
After the project was proposed, the city of Ellsworth wanted to include residents within the planning process.
