Rockland Police investigating serious motorcycle crash
The Rockland Police Department says a 20-year-old man has been hospitalized with serious and possibly life-threatening injuries after a motorcycle crash.
The crash happened on Park Street.
WABI news reports crews responded to the crash on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. and say the motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The man was transported to Pen Bay Medical Center and police say speed may have been a factor.
Appleton man leads police on multi-town pursuit, nearly strikes firefighter
On Friday afternoon, the Knox County Sheriff’s office, police police departments and regional dispatchers responded to a non-compliant driver.
The pursuit began after a near-miss with emergency personnel.
The Pen Bay Pilot reports emergency crews were managing a public safety scene when 41-year-old Michael C. Pearl nearly struck an active firefighter with a pickup truck.
Pearl then fled and officials say during the pursuit, the driver placed a call to 911 according to the publication.
Pearl was later detained without further incident and the investigation remains active by the Knox County Sheriff’s office.
Five escape house fire in Hudson
On Wednesday, Hudson Fire officials say five people escaped a structure fire, however a firefighter was taken to a Bangor hospital for an evaluation.
Two adults and three children were in the home at the time the fire broke out.
WABI news reports crews responded to heavy fire at the scene and say responders faced some challenges.
As of right now the reason the firefighter was taken to the hospital has not been disclosed.
The cause is under investigation however it is believed to be accidental.

Temporary lane closure reminder for Ellsworth residents
Officials in the City of Ellsworth want to remind motorists that Bayside Road will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic on Tuesday.
Highway crews will be working to complete shoulder work and traffic will be directed through the work zone however you should expect minor delays.
Remember to slow down, follow signs and flaggers and use extra caution.

Blue Hill Maritime Heritage Festival set for Aug. 15
A festival celebrating the heritage of Blue Hill is coming up later this month.
On Saturday, Aug. 15 starting at 10 a.m. the seventh annual Blue Hill Maritime Heritage Festival will return to the Blue Hill waterfront.
The Ellsworth American reports many activities will take place like boat-building demonstrations, actors telling stories of historical characters and nautical art tent shows.
The publication reports on top of that fun, music will be performed and food will be available along with face paintings and a touch tank for the kids.

Northeast Harbor Library hosts singer songwriter Caroline Cotter
