Star 97.7 is the hometown radio station for much of coastal Maine. With a Smooth Rock and Roll classic hits soundtrack from the 70s, 80s & 90s, and an emphasis on serving communities in Hancock, Washington and southern Penobscot Counties, Star 97.7 has earned the distinction of being Maine’s premiere community radio station.

We like to keep things local here at Star 97.7, and that includes our news. Sierra Whaley delivers Maine news each morning from 6am to 9am on the Star 97.7 morning show. WABI’s Joy Hallowell covers Maine news each afternoon.

Veteran meteorologist Steve McKay delivers current and accurate weather forecasts throughout the day and evening.
